We have many ministries here at Calvary designed to disciple and strengthen our walk with Jesus Christ.  Here are some highlights for each ministry.  Some have pages with more information about them.  Please click on the menu above for each for more information.

Children & Youth Ministries

Children’s Church
At CalvaryChildren’s Church runs simultaneously with the Sunday morning worship service from 9:30 – 10:45. Kindergarten through fifth grade experience worship through flannel graph lessons, mission stories, Bible videos, puppets, object lessons, Bible memorization, and praise songs all presented in a format more suitable for “young worshippers.” Our goal in children’s church is to teach children about God’s love while we prepare them to be able to smoothly transition into adult worship when they are ready (usually 5th or 6th grade).

Salt & Light Company
Salt & Light Company is a ministry for all children 1st grade to 5th grade every Wednesday evening from 6:30 – 8:00. The children memorize scripture and learn about missions. Our parents are encouraged to spend time each week with their children working through the weekly lessons. We believe that the best teacher a student can have is the parent. The children earn points for such things as; bringing their Bible, scripture memorization, Parent/Child activity, and bringing guests. They can “spend” these points on treats, toys, & games in the “Salt & Light Company Store” at the first Wednesday of the month.

Mission Friends
Mission Friends is a ministry for all children 2 yrs through Kindergarten meet every Wednesday evening from 6:30 – 8:00 during the fall, winter, and spring. Lessons are taught to introduce and develop a missions interest.  Each month the kids are taught about a specific missionary (international or domestic) and they have activities, stories, projects, or games that relate to where the missionary works. Once a month they take field trip and visit and sing to people who are homebound or elderly.

Upward Basketball & Cheerleading
Upward is a ministry for all children Kindergarten through Fifth grade.  Children are are taught how to play basketball but without the “win-at-all-costs mentality.  They have a bible study during practices.  The season is 8 weeks long and starts in January with registration starting about October.

Vacation Bible School
VBS is a ministry for all children who have completed Kindergarten through Sixth grade.  Children spend a week from 9am – 12pm learning about Jesus usually the 3rd week of June.

Calvary United Youth Group

United is a ministry for all youth in 6th through 12th grade.  They meet each Wednesday evening at 6:30-8:00.  They have recreation/games, snacks, music & praise time followed by a Bible lesson.  They also go to a summer camp at Falls Creek Camp in Oklahoma.  They hold car washes, garage sales and other events throughout the year to “earn” money for camp.

We also do other short term projects as needed. All women are welcome.

Women’s Ministry

It is our intent that all we do in service of our Lord Jesus Christ, be for his honor and glory. Glory has created each of us with varied gifts and needs, we are endeavoring to develop ministries which will utilize those gifts and meet the needs of women in our church and community.

Our Current Ministries include:

• Bible Studies: Throughout the year with daytime and evening programs.
• Discipleship: Opportunities to disciple and to be discipled are offered.
• Love In Action: Offers an opportunity to serve in areas such as baby and
  wedding showers, receptions, and banquets.
• Prayer Quilts: Lap quilts are created for people in need of prayer. Each quilt is
brought before the church to have the strings tied with a prayer before delivery to
  the recipient.
