How to add sermons to website

Steps 1 through 12 can be completed before the service starts for an AM service, for a PM service just wait until afterwards. Steps 1-7 are on the left side of the screen and then steps 8-12 are on the right side of the screen.

  1. Use internet browser (Chrome) to navigate to this website: https://calvaryvc.org/wp-admin/index.php and login to the Calvaryvc.org dashboard using the credentials given to you.
    • Username: Soundman
    • Password: *************
  2. Click on “+” at top of page and then click on “Sermon”
  3. Copy the sermon title from sermon notes PowerPoint/PDF.
  4. Paste title in “Sermon Title” field.
  5. Click on the “Date Preached” field and select the date.
  6. Click on the “Service Type” and select either “Sunday AM” or “Sunday PM” Service.
  7. Copy the sermon scripture passage from sermon notes PowerPoint/PDF (if it is several passages of scripture then enter “Multiple” instead. Paste scripture passage in “Main Bible Passage” field.
  8. Type speakers name into “Speakers” field and select speakers name when it pops up and click “Add” if name pops up, if not then just type name and click “Add”.
  9. If the sermon is part of a series then enter the series name and select series name when it pops up and click “Add” if name pops up, if not then just type the series name and click “Add”.
  10. Leave “Topics” field empty.
  11. Leave “Bible books” field empty.
  12. If the sermon has an image click on “Set sermon image”
    • If the image has been used before then locate the image in the media library, click on it and then click on “Set sermon image”
    • If the image hasn’t been used then click on the “Upload Files” tab and then click on “Select Files” or drag sermon image file into box. Then select the sermon image file and click on “Set sermon image”.
  13. On the left side of the screen at the Description field do the following:
    • Click on “Add Media”.
    • Click on “Upload Files” tab and then click on “Select Files”.
    • Browse to sermon notes pdf file (powerpoint folder) and select it for upload and then click on “Open”.
      • This should be stored in the local public documents\my webs\calvaryvc\powerpoint folder
      • filename should be mm-dd-yyam.pdf or mm-dd-yypm.pdf where the mm and dd are not padded with zeros.
    • Click on “Insert to sermon”.
    • Click on the link created in the description box (it will be the filename before the .pdf extension.
    • Click on the pencil icon to edit the link.
    • Click on the gear icon to edit the settings.
    • Highlight the existing text in “Link Text” and change it to “Sermon Notes”
    • Click on the box beside “Open link in a new tab”
    • Click on Update.
  14. Click on “Save Draft” in the upper right corner of the screen.
  15. For Am Service – Click on Publish. This will allow live stream viewers to see the sermon notes as well.
  16. Continue steps 17-26 after the service is over.
  17. Click on the “Add Sermon Audio” button.
  18. Click on the “Upload Files” tab and then the “Select Files” button.
  19. Browse to the sermon mp3 recording file and select it for upload and then click on “Open”.
    • This should be stored in the local public documents\my webs\calvaryvc\sermons folder
    • Filename should be mm-dd-yyam.mp3 or mm-dd-yypm.mp3 where the mm and dd are not padded with zeros.
    • For PM service skip to step 25 unless a video stream was done.
  20. Click in the “Video Embed Code” field
  21. Leave the “Video Link” field empty.
  22. Leave “Sermon Notes” field empty.
  23. Leave “Bulletin” field empty.
  24. Leave “Excerpts” field empty.
  25. Click on the “Publish” button.
  26. Navigate to Sermons page on https://www.calvaryvc.org.
    • Open sermon just created by clicking on the sermon title and check it has everything listed correctly.
    • Click on “Sermon Notes” link and make sure it opens in a new tab correctly.
    • Click on Video play button (if available) and make sure it plays from sermon start position.
    • Click on audio recording play button and make sure it plays correctly.
